You can imagine the boys are happy now to have two weeks off school. After that, Patrick will be in France for two weeks. For him, it will be four weeks away from the daily routine of his usual school life.
On Sunday I drove Michael up to his grandparents. Omi had decorated the house beautifully, as always, for Easter. I love the way the Germans hang Easter eggs on trees and branches indoor and out in preparation for Easter. Primroses and tulips are everywhere.
When I returned home after the 2 1/2-hour drive and called to let them know I'd arrived safely, I could hear Omi already reading "Harry Potter und der Feuerkelch" aloud. We'd gotten to the last 100 pages or so. Michael also has "Harry Potter und der Orden des Phönix" tucked into his bag. The weather forecast is gorgeous for this week, so they'll probably do some biking as well.
