Today we had Sunday dinner with my second cousin Philipp and the boys' third cousin Johann! Michael built up our two Playmobil castles in preparation for their visit.
After playing in the living room for a while, 3 1/2-year-old Johann wanted to try our swings outside; we ended up in the treehouse. At the playground a block away, Johann tried all the equipment and served us in his "restaurant."
Philipp and Patrick had a lively chat about gravity on the floor of the living room. During dinner Philipp fielded our questions re: the real-world applications of physics; Nick has an exam tomorrow, and we lay people were wondering if all the formulas he has to learn really have any use at all.
Was lots of fun and nice having an electrical engineer in the family. We hope they come again soon...or maybe we'll see them in Augsburg one day.
