Patrick has wanted to go to New York for a while. With my semester break coinciding with both the Hessian schools' long Mardi Gras weekend and Patrick's birthday this year, it seemed to be the perfect opportunity for the two of us to visit the Big Apple (Mar. 4-7). Since it really is Patrick's special weekend, we won't be visiting relatives and I won't be able to catch up with friends in the NY area, but we will get to see Tina on her birthday and overnight in her home.The first night we'll stay in the new Hilton Fashion District Hotel, with views onto the Empire State Building. Kind of crazy, but should be a great break after a very hard semester for me and a lot of schoolwork for Patrick. If Patrick is up for it, at some point I'd love to get a slice of pizza from the pizzeria around the corner from where Oma lived in Queens!
